What happened in 1987....toys, movies etc.

So I came across a blog today where someone said what was popular when they were born, the author of that post was born in 1982 so although I can imagine it won't be too different from me, it gave me a good idea for an entry myself.

I was born on the 24th February, 1987. The day was a Tuesday (Thanks to Football Manager lol) and there were many things going on that were new and up coming.
Some may even say 'state-of-the-art'.

1987 was the year of Dirty Dancing, and RoboCop (The Original, of course), Three Men And A Baby, and Lethal Weapon.

Hillary Duff was also born on September 28th of this year. Great looking woman to share the year with really.

Some of the popular toys are also: Rubik's Cube, Slinkies, and Mr Potato Head.

These were the pre-iPad times of today, hardly any kid's toys were in any form electronic, even th consoles were pretty 'retro' to what we have these days, Sega Master System, and Commodore Amiga 500, which became the biggest gaming system of the 80s, in Europe the Amiga was the biggest selling console of the time.

Although I never owned either of these because I was only young, both of these remind me of the Atari ST and the Sega Mega Drive that we had in the house.
I remember when we were allocating time with my sister to take it in turns when we got the Mega Drive and Sonic games. That game actually still holds up and some people still seem to play it even these days, Sega have even released the games on new platforms like the XBOX and Sony stores to download.

The important question, what games did you used to play on your Master System or Amiga?
And what computer system's did you grow up playing?

The Accident MEME...Shelf Building.

So there is a MEME going around Facebook and other websites about someone being stupid on Google and it becoming popular.

As stupid as this all seems stupid and seems to be plenty more people like this popping up around the internet but the origin is a trolling mechanism, or internet slang, made to exploit the imagination of of english speaking internet users. It is used by constructing a complete sentence that begins with ''I accidentally'' and removing the verb, leaving readers wondering what had been there in the first place.

Here are some other examples in the form of MEMEs:

The best thing about these memes is that when people say them in forums, people are actually replying like they are 'playing along' with the joke, as you can see below. The user has replied on Yahoo! Answers to the whole thing acknowledging the known problem of building a shelf by accident.

As I said before, its all made to confuse the English speaking user about the missing verb that in turn changes the whole statement, leaving the reader wondering what has happened.
A few possible examples for the internet meme above could be that:

He has sold his internet - I accidentally SOLD the internet.
He could have done some NSFW stuff too like - I accidentally BUMMED the internet (lol).

So yes, hopefully this has cleared it up for some people, it confused me a lot when I first saw this on Facebook. What do you think about the whole thing?

If the Power Rangers were on Tinder.

Ok so I thought it would be fun to do a blog about the old Power Rangers from my childhood and do a 'what if' situation for you all with Tinder.

So, what if the power rangers young selves from back in the day were on Tinder today? Would you swipe left or right?

First up we have the Pink Ranger, Amy Jo.
Here is, Austin, the Red Ranger.
The Green Ranger, Walter.
Blue Ranger, Yost.

And then you cannot forget the baddy, the reason teenage boys watched the show of course. (I don't know her name lol).

Of course these aren't the Power Rangers real ages or anything I just put any random age as its Tinder, but who would you swipe yes to?

As always put your comments below and please remember to follow me.

The Fight for Spider-Man: Sony Vs Marvel.

Since the Sony Pictures hack, there has been quite a lot of speculation around the internet as to what exactly is happening with the Spider-Man franchise.
The hack happened a few days ago now (8th December, 2014) and since then, has been huge rumours about not only Spider-Man but many other things including the new Seth Rogan movie threats, and Angelina Jolie's new movie, Cleopatra.

Considering the Spider-Man franchise though, it has been under great speculation on what exactly will be happening with the future of the character that has been under Sony's contract for many years now. Although the Spider-Man franchise under Sony's control has never really left a huge mark on the cinema world, the most recent movie The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been the worse grossing movie of the whole Spider-Man Cinematic Universe, as you can see from the table below courtesy of Boxofficemojo.com.

Although Sony has plans for not only another TWO Amazing Spider-Man movies, but they are also planning a Sinister Six movie which has already been dated for the 11th November 2016, which means that production will need to start sometime next year if they want to make their projected release date.
Due to the recent leak of the Sony Pictures hack, it has been picked up that Wall Street Journal has found a few emails that have been exchanged between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios, and also some more emails between the Sony Pictures President Doug Belgrad and Amy Pascal, who is the co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

As recent as 31st October 2014, emails have been found to have been sent between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios on a deal where they can successfully gain Spider-Man back for Captain America 3 and Avengers 3.
Among the emails there has been information saying that Marvel wanted to include Spider-Man for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, (which would have been even more amazing than it was).

Marvel clearly want to keep the Movie Universe as faithful and to the story line of the Comic books, where Peter Parker/ Spider-Man's role was pivotal in the events leading up to the Civil War. When Spider-Man unmasks in public for the first time in his history to support the Superhero Registration Act, it validates Iron Man's pro-registration side in the eyes of the public. Although Captain America is against the act and this leads to the Civil War between Captain America and Iron Man, with the other inhumans and superheroes choosing a side.
This would be amazing on screen, and a huge part to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I also think it would be the very first time a superhero has unmasked in front of the public.

All this could very well be turned around though as some emails have been found between the execs at Sony Pictures, mentioning that they want to do a comedy spin off that is created from the people who brought you 22 Jump Street, there is also mentions of the Sinister Six, and a female character to the Spider-Man universe (possibly Spider-Woman/Girl).

Although none of this has actually been validated and Marvel HAVE denied the rumours to be true, if either studio could validate the announcement that would be great for me and all Marvel fans, and Spidey fans that believe the franchise to be heading downhill even more than has been proven.
What do you guys think? Do you think Spider-Man will join the MCU or do you think they should do another 2 Spider-Man movies and the spin-off movies like Sinister Six?
Another question also might be that who else should play Spider-Man? I personally like Andrew Garfield but no one else seems to think the same lol.

Girls of Two & A Half Men! - Pre-Ashton Kutcher.

So, Two & A Half Men has announced it will be doing an hour long special farewell on the 19th February. I have honestly not really watched many of the Ashton Kutcher episodes so this is why I have done this post about the girls of the show before he took the lead role.
The show has been running for a huge 262 episodes (including shows leading up to the finale in February. It has been rated the most successful sitcom on tv and has been up for 37 Emmy nominations, and Jon Cryer even got 2 awards himself.

Two & A Half Men started with original lead Charlie Sheen, and after his very public freak out in 2011. The show decided to replace Charlie with Ashton Kutcher who kept the show a float and helped keep ratings at a steady pace.

So here we have decided to list the greatly hot women that made an appearance on the show that ran for 12 seasons, although we are only doing the Charlie Sheen era.

Rose

We start with one of the most popular women of the series, Rose, played by Melanie Lynskey. Known as the rich stalker next door who would constantly harass Charlie when ever she saw the opportunity, they had a few sexual relations with one another and the whole stalker thing started in the first episode where they first had sex.
Rose ended up getting married to Charlie during the last few episodes of Charlie Sheen. It was believed that Rose had killed Charlie during their honeymoon, although is never really clear if she did or not, it is just a speculation that Berta and Allan have.
After Charlie left the show, Rose does not really make much of an appearance until Waldon (Ashton Kutcher) moves into the beach house and then Rose trains Ashton's ex-girlfriend into stalking him.

Chelsea Melini

Chelsea Melini is played by Jennifer Bini Taylor, first appearing in Season 6 Episode 8 as one of Charlie's one night stands, although after her first episode Chelsea does not reappear until Season 6 Episode 15. They fall in love and she is the first woman that Charlie ever says the three words to.
Chelsea Melini appears in the show until the end of season 7 and then does not appear until the beginning of season 9 where it is Charlie's Funeral where she mentioned that he gave her an STD. During the time between them meeting and Charlie's death, they are exclusive for her time in the show and they break up at the end of season 7 because Charlie has slept with her best friend, Gail.

Gail

Which leads us to Gail, played by Tricia Helfer. Her first appearance was in Season 7 Episode 8 where she was invited Chelsea to stay over at Charlie's beach house due to Gail's recent break up. The whole episode she is crying and gathers the attention from the whole house, including Berta, Allan, and Charlie.
Charlie keeps having secret fantasies about Chelsea and Gail inviting Charlie into a three-some and when Chelsea has to leave on business for the weekend, Charlie encourages Allan to hit on Gail so that he can be left alone. Later in the season Charlie sleeps with Gail when they meet at a local shop while getting Jake's hair cut. They later break up because Charlie tells Chelsea the whole thing.

Kandi/Kimber

One of the hotter women of the show (and a personal favourite lol), Kandi is played by April Bowlby who was introduced into the show in Season 3 Episode 9 as Kimber, although when she made her reappearance later in the season she was renamed for unknown reasons as Kandi.
She was introduced as one of Charlie's one night stands and left the show after the episode because Charlie started seeing another woman called Mia who he starts an intense relationship with.
When Kandi comes back in to the show under her new name she gets told the whole story by Allan, Charlie's Brother who lives with him, but then after a small freak out on Kandi's part, she starts to date Allan for quite a few episodes before they get a divorce for unknown reasons, although Allan becoming a millionaire might have something to do with it. Kandi uses the same lawyer as Allan's ex wife Judith and wins everything.
Kandi is not seen again until Season 10 where she comes back begging for Allan to take her back but due to his loyalty to another woman (Lyndsey), he turns her down.

Mia Adams

Played by Emmanuelle Vaguer, Mia first appeared in Season 3, Episode 8 who Charlie tried to talk to in a coffee shop, after the brush off Charlie tries a different move by putting Jake in her dance class. Mia is Charlie's first ever serious relationship on the show. When they first get together he finds it difficult to go without having sex, they get into an argument over it. Eventually, new problems arise as Mia tries to make Charlie take up a healthier lifestyle, giving up cigars, beer, meat and making him go jogging with her. They split up later on because Charlie has been doing all these things in secret. A few episodes later Mia comes back to the show to ask Charlie to donate some sperm for her, Charlie replies with a wedding propose and they hitch off to Las Vegas, with Allan and Kandi. Things are yet shaken again between the two when Mia asks when Allan will be moving out, as if they are to be married they do not want Charlie's brother around the house, Charlie refuses to kick out his brother for Allan and they yet again break up, Allan and Kandi get married instead using the same ring that Charlie was going to give Mia.

Courtney Leopold (Sylvia Fishman)

Courtney Leopold is played by Jenny McCarthy and first appears in Season 5 Episode 9 as Teddy's daughter, though Charlie is told by Teddy to stay away, they end up having sex due to Courtney tricking him and threatens to tell Teddy if Charlie does not buy her a Ferrari. Charlie does but they end up falling for each other.
When Teddy is found dead on Charlie's bed due to a heart attack before sex with his newly found wife, a CSI investigation later reveals that Teddy and Courtney are actually con artists named Nathan Krunk and Sylvia Fishman, while she is escorted off by police officers, Charlie was going to tell her off for conning him but found himself saying he will ''Wait for her''.

In season 8, Sylvia reappears from prison stating that she hasn't had sex in three years, Charlie soon ditches his family during their Thanksgiving Dinner to go to Las Vegas with her, after a few episodes they come under fire when Charlie refuses to lend Sylvia money so they have an argument and she leaves him for another man, later in the episode Charlie runs to get her back but runs into his living room glass door, ruining his face. In hospital Sylvia comes to visit him and Charlie declares his love for her, they start dating again.
After a while they mutually end their relationship realising that it has ran its course.
Sylvia is one of the reoccurring characters that pops up in seasons 5, 8, and 9.

Lisa

Lisa is played by Denise Richards, first appearance is Season 1, Episode 10. Before the show began, Charlie used to live with Lisa but they split up because Charlie was not willing to commit to the relationship. When Lisa comes back in town, Charlie is instantly interested and in her second episode (Episode 11), they end up giving it another go, for the day. They decided to split up after the first day because Charlie again has commitment issues, despite him trying to look after her son to prove he can commit.

Laura Lang

Laura Lang is the attorney for Allan during his trial for custody of Jake, Laura is played by Heather Locklear and although she only appears for the one episode, she manages to make Charlie's life hell as they enter a forbidden sexual relationship, not only forbidden by Allan, but them two sleeping together is also against the law as she is Allan's attorney.
Laura demands that Charlie be available for sex no matter what time of the day it is and what he is doing, when Charlie broke the promise, Laura Lang took it upon herself to ruin Allan's divorce case.

Dolores Pasternak/Desiree Bush

Miss Pasternak is Jake's 5th grade teacher who has a brief encounter with Charlie, her character is also one of the only ones in the show that is played by two different women, Missi Payle (Season 2, 7, and 9), and Alicia Witt (Season 6).
First appearing in Season 2 Episode 3 played by Missi Payle, when she started sleeping with Charlie she was starting to give Jake better grades without earning them, later Charlie realised that Dolores was mentally ill.
She did not reappear until Season 6 where she had lost her teaching license and her job and was living in a motel working as a stripper (This is where she was played by Alicia Witt), in which time Dolores believed Charlie to be an angel sent to save her, she then became very religious and started attending church, she forced Charlie, Allan, Jake and Berta to go with her where Dolores believed they should get married. Charlie then dumped her again which forced her to revert.

Left picture is Missi Payle, right is Alicia Witt.

Jamie Eckleberry

Also known as the Ugly Eckleberry Hound, Jamie is played by Paget Brewster, first appeared in Season 2 Episode 12. Jamie had lost a lot of weight since been called the Ugly Eckleberry Hound, and when she met Charlie and Allan, they both hit on her but due to her wanting revenge she rejected them both.
Charlie never actually slept with Jamie but she appeared in the show for the one episode.

Isabella

Isabella is one of the more, extreme girlfriends that Charlie has had, she is played by Jodi Lynn O'Keefe and first appeared in Season 3 Episode 6. She was in a covent and worshipped Satan, her dating Charlie was only for the covent. Allan believes that Isabella put a curse on Charlie, and threatens him and gives Allan evils every time they meet in the house.
The only way they get rid of Isabella is to have their mum come over and tell her off for touching her sons, which also reinforces the idea of the covent and curse.

Lydia

Lydia is played by Katherine LaNasa, she first appears in Season 4 Episode 6. She is the woman that is extremely similar to Charlie and Allan's Mother. Everyone noticed this except for Charlie who only realised when she met his mother and she instantly approved of Lydia.
Things began to look grim when Lydia started to boss Berta around, Charlie told Berta that Lydia had gone but when she caught them in bed together Berta quit on the spot. After some time though (but in the same episode) Charlie dumped Lydia to get Berta back but would only come back if Charlie attended sex addiction seminars.

Lydia was in 4 episodes, the 2 where she dated Charlie, she then appeared in an hallucination Charlie had with some of his other previous girlfriends, and then Lydia appeared in physical form at Charlie's funeral.

Margaret

Margaret plays Charlie's girlfriend in Season 5 Episode 2, and is played by Jennifer O'Dell. After meeting Charlie at a party with his mother, Evelyn, who forbid them from seeing each other. Charlie decided to go to Margaret's house anyway to have sex with her. While 'doing it' Charlie told Margaret that he promised his mum he wouldn't, when her husband came in the house and Charlie had to escape out of the window.
Margaret only appeared in the one episode.

Gabrielle

Gabrielle first appeared in Season 5 Episode 10 and was played by Justine Eyre. Gabrielle, was stolen off Charlie by his brother Allan, who he then dated for two episodes. She is the woman who's idea of sex was to just lay there and endure it.
Allan steals Gabrielle from Charlie due to a high school girlfriend called Charity been stolen by Charlie, when Allan is uncomfortable about the idea of Gabrielle's sex, he goes home and Charlie says they are now even.

Gabrielle was in the show for 2 episodes.

And although Charlie Harper never slept with her, how can we forget Prudence?

Prudence is Berta granddaughter that stirs up all kinds of trouble with her amazing looks, played by Megan Fox and first appears in Season 1 Episode 12. Since her appearance everyone instantly takes a liking to her within the house, Charlie and Allan like to watch her clean the windows while Jake fetches her drinks while she sun bathes.
Although she dresses in skimpy outfits and looks very sexy throughout the episode, Berta promises to kill whoever sleeps with her which is why they do not touch her, and for once Charlie actually listens.

Although Prudence only appeared in the one episode, it is a very rememberable episode for sure.

I have missed quite a few of the women that were only in the show for one or two episodes but I have chosen all the major characters that appeared, in total the show has seen Charlie have 47 or more sexual encounters so I could not really cover them all, not to mention a lot of them are hard to write about because they didn't really do that much in the episode they appeared.

Either way I feel this was a good way to say bye to the much loved show on CBS, Two and A Half Men has seen many sexy women on the show and it continues to have the likes of Miley Cyrus and many more as the show continues with Walter Schmidt and his part of the show.

In the states, the show will end on the 19th February at 9pm which will then make way for Matthew Perry's reboot of Odd Couple (Not sure when it will air in the UK though).

Who was your favourite Charlie Harper conquest? As usual please comment if you wish to say anything about this or answer, and make sure you click the follow button.

I'm In A Band, Help Me!

So you have decided to start a band, but what now?
Well there are so many things you need to be doing between gigs, and that is mainly self promoting and getting more gigs.

1. Networking
When you have that one gig a year or before you even have your very first gig, you need to be attending other peoples shows, thats small shows and similar genres, saying hi to bands and maybe taking a photo with them too. That way people will start knowing who you are, some people might even come up to you and say ''Your from that band!'', then they may just be potential fans for your show. Then they will attend your gigs and that will in turn impress the venue/promoter you played for and will get invited back.
Even if you are playing for free, those first couple of shows playing for free is basically your fan base, starting out, and getting those potentially screaming fans when/if you make it big.

2. Getting Likes/Followers
There is a lot of speculation in the music industry about which bands are paying for their likes and which bands are genuine, this is all mainly in the unsigned scene as bands like A Day To Remember and All Time Low do not really need to pay for their likes.
Key is to make sure your Social Media page is always active, but then not too active that is fills peoples feeds, if you have nothing going on at the minute then just post a random meme, try post at least twice a week if nothing else is going on, and then maybe every other day or a 3/4 times a week when something is going on. Try find out trending topics and some how try fit that into your status, If Justin Beiber is trending one week then put a funny meme of Justin Beiber out, not only does this keep you active but members find it funny and may share it, your bands link will be tagged underneath or tweeted and then you get more likes.

3. Have Material to Listen to.
There is honestly nothing worse than booking a band you cannot listen to, before you ask around for those first gigs, try get something recorded. There are a lot of programs out on the internet that allow you to professionally record a song on your laptop, it won't have the same quality as a recording studio but it will do for now until you get some money.

4. Get a Gig!
Once you have that first demo or even a sample of what you sound like, you can now start contacting promoters and venues about getting a gig. The trick is to sound as professional as possible, include links to the demo, your Facebook page, or put together a press pack which includes everything someone should know about your band. Too much information is possible, but a lack of information is always bad! Do not leave the vital things out. Here is a list of stuff promoters may look for when you email them:

Facebook/Twitter Link (Any Social Media).
Soundcloud or links to material (This can be YouTube as well).
Age range that the band are.
Where you are based, if you are travelling out of town you will need touring experience first.
If you have toured or played before, then with who? Maybe include pictures if you can.

All this above is great because it shows that you are serious, you can capture your performance on a media and you took into account the promoter or venue by including your age, some venues or promoters cannot allow under 18 year olds in to their venue, you will need to know this before you contact them. This shows that you took the time to look into their company, think this as a job interview. Would you research the company before your interview? Yes, Would you include a CV (media links)? Yes! This is pretty similar.
Now you have gotten your first gig, that is it right? The hard work is over and the gigs should start rolling in, WRONG! That is just the beginning, now you contact more promoters and try the whole thing again until you have raised enough funds from shows or externally working so that you can afford to make more songs/demos.
Another thing up coming or starting out bands tend to forget is that you should never book too many shows in one city, and do not try to tour straight away, nothing good will come from either. If you book too many shows you will just see less and less people at your shows and some people may get fed up of seeing your band play that they will stop following your band.
Also if you tour too soon, you may find unexpected things like the venue or promoter pulling out while you have already started touring, or even the promoter/venue will not book you again because you brought no one.

There is no rule about when you should start touring, although if you can it is usually with a bigger band that has toured before. Although this can be hard, this is where your networking can come in handy, remember that first band photo you took and mentioned you were starting a band? They might want to take you out on tour!

Are you in a band and have some advice for those young budding start ups? Comment on this post or follow me :)

Facebook Vs Twitter - The Reoccuring Battle of the Medias.

So this argument goes around the internet quite a lot, Facebook Vs Twitter, but I thought it would be a great subject to practice my writing on. People always say to their friends 'Come join Twitter' or 'I just joined Facebook, are you on?'
But which is the better social media? Heres a few pointless features about each one.

Facebook
So recently Facebook has been getting more and more updates on a more regular basis, but what does this do for you? Well if you are in a band it will not help you thats for sure. Facebook seems to be making it harder after every update to promote your music and band page through Facebook.
You can see this happen on many pages, quite a lot of band pages will have 10K+ likes on Facebook and will only receive around 10% interaction.

For example, Cinema Blend have over 1.2 million likes on Facebook, but when they post about things like Star Wars which is trending at the moment, they get a great response, but nothing like what you would expect from a page with that many likes.

Anyway, Facebook is the only place I can think of where you will find pages like these below:

Only on Facebook will you see people joining a page that says not to like the page, and this isn't the only page like this, I found plenty of pages that were things like ''Do Not Like this Page or You Will Die'' with over 1,000 likes, this page above with 7,801 likes, and then Justin Beiber with over 76 MILLION likes!

Only on Facebook will you ever see endless notifications about who is inviting you to Farm Ville, or Candy Crush.

So what is different with Twitter?

Twitter
Twitter is funnier than Facebook in its own little way, it is the only place where you can tweet a company (because messaging is over rated and not very social) and they will reply back with a funny reply.

I follow both Tesco & Tesco Mobile just because they are hilarious with their replies to customers, Aldi also did the famous Black Friday tweet also.

On a more serious note though, twitter can be the place where companies give you great customer service for your items you purchased in store or maybe electronics you purchased online, mainly because you are showing the Twitter world that they have a faulty product, I can't be sure.

Twitter has a lot of this Meme worthy-ness going on that I actually think they are paying certain companies to do this stuff because it is always going around Facebook, which is Twitter main competition of course, and has been for many years now, ever since Twitter emerged really.

There is no real winner out of these two Social Media giants really, they both have their uses and although Twitter seems to be a great place to interact with big bands and huge companies, Facebook is more down to earth with the smaller people. Getting likes on a page called 'Microwave' or maybe a 'Die if you don't share' post.

Let me know what you guys think, Twitter or Facebook? Post some memes about Facebook too as I struggled to find them. And make sure you follow me :)
